The Boutique Hotel Ilio in Capo Sant’Andrea presents HI, the new brand name for the bar and restaurant, a sign of authenticity
HI quality, HI fidelity, HI definition. The suffix HI, used to describe high quality services and now part of everyday language, has become the name of a high class restaurant and bar in the Boutique Hotel Ilio in Capo Sant’Andrea on the island of Elba. The initials of the Hotel Ilio provide a good idea of the refined and classy location which Maurizio Testa, the owner of the hotel, reserves to delight his guests with dishes based on local specialities and fresh ingredients and jugs of nectar from the island. But HI also stands for High Inspiration, because the Hotel Ilio is an inspiring and suggestive place, given its privileged position. There are infinite reminders of this, from the HI Restaurant to the HI Bars, HI Wine and HI Cocktails, and again the HI Exhibitions hall for events and the HI Garden, a perfect place to relax. The chef Giancarlo Pollidini provides guests with unusual dishes and combinations of food, based on the gastronomic traditions of Elba and altered to cater for more modern tastes. His HI Island formula combines fish, meat and vegetables in colourful and perfumed dishes reminiscent of the spirit of the island and presented in a special and glamorous environment combining simplicity and class. The wines available from the cellar are, naturally, mostly local and Tuscan, full-bodied and characteristic, which best represent the relaxed nature of this magnificent island; an almost exclusive paradise, reserved for guests of the Hotel Ilio. The bar is also open to visitors all day, and serves aperitifs, cocktails, carafes of wine and coffee, and is an ideal place for a relaxing break in this natural environment. HI is also a form of informal greeting, which is more or less the same as “see you soon”; an invitation to return to this delightful location.
