Andrea “Drew of Sydney” Francolini is a well-known marine industry photographer.

Andrea was born in Milan, Italy in the early 70s. He studied in the USA and Switzerland and has been based in Sydney, Australia since December 2000. Being fluent in English, French and Italian, over the course of his freelance career, has helped him work around the world on every continent.
A decade after starting his career in the graphic design industry in Europe, Andrea specialized in yachting photography. His images are regularly published across Europe and in North America and heavily widespread in Australia and the South Pacific.

He is represented by the following agencies, which distribute his pictures worldwide and locally to daily, weekly and monthly magazines and advertisement agencies: DPPI Omnisport (Paris, France), with a picture distribution in over 30 countries; Spike Picture.com (UK); APA Picture Desk (Austria) and RovingEye (Australia).
He has covered many important sailing races worldwide, such as the Route du Rhum, the Whitbread Race Around the World, Volvo Ocean Race, Vendee Globe Challenge, Louis Vuitton Cup, the Sydney to Hobart Race, Skandia Gellong Race Week, Audi Hamilton Island Race Week and all of Audis sailing events in Australia.
This 2007-8 season has already seen Andrea working in Spain, France, Italy, New Zealand, Japan and Pakistan.
He photographs aquatic events, sports, portraits and resort and travel images for a range of clients worldwide.
Andrea uses the latest Canon EOS digital bodies, Leica M, Hasselblad Xpan, Mamiya 7 and 4x5 field camera.
