BREAKFAST
At boutique Hotel Ilio "il buon giorno si vede dal mattino", if you start the day well, the rest will continue well. During the hot months, breakfast is served on the splendid terrace surrounded by luxuriant plants and trees. There is a wide choice on the breakfast buffet: various types of organic marmalade, butter, "Nutella", organic honey from Elba, muesli, corn flakes, fresh croissants, sweet and savoury pies prepared by our Chef, Giancarlo, cheese, cooked ham, finocchiona toscana (a typical Tuscan salami), eggs, seasonal fruit, various types of yoghurt, fruit juice, various kinds of homemade bread (white, wholemeal, with figs), crackers, all kinds of tea and herbal infusions and excellent coffee served in attractive cafetiéres – everything you need to start the day in the best possible way.
DINNER
The Hotel Ilio's chef, Giancarlo Pollidini, offers a menu featuring exquisite Elba and Mediterranean dishes to give our guests the opportunity to appreciate fully this renowned and illustrious gastronomic tradition. Whenever possible, local produce is used to make the dishes (local fish, meat, seasonal fruit and vegetables). Fish-based first and second courses are always available in our menu. Vegetarians are also welcome, of course. The beautiful dining room, with its new design and our attention to every detail, hosts photographic art exhibits on the walls and is the venue for theme dinners with wine tasting.
WINE LIST
The extensive wine list is dedicated purely to Elban and Tuscan wines in order to allow our guests to appreciate the great oenological tradition of Tuscany and especially Elba, the land of dessert wines, white wines from Ansonica grapes and red and rosé wines.
The new cellar at Hotel Ilio offers a wide selection of DOC Elban and Tuscan denomination wines and the opportunity to enjoy wine tastings on a theme. To celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of his hotel, Maurizio Testa has created his own wine with the assistance of the Acquabona Vineyard of Portoferraio, artists in the production of fine wines.
Plenty of space is also given to such typical Tuscan products as meditation wines, grappas, brandy and chocolate. Accompanying a glass of Elban Aleatico with some Amedei chocolate or cantucci biscuits made by our chef Giancarlo, is an unforgettable taste experience.
THE BAR
The bar is open to guests all day and service is also available on the terrace. Before dinner you can enjoy one of the exquisite aperitifs prepared by our barman; refreshing no-alcohol fruit drinks, long drinks or cocktails, or simply a glass of Mediterranean Prosecco sparkling white wine or a glass of one of the highly select wines from the cellars of Hotel Ilio, accompanied by delicious canapés.
